A new survey about mobile Internet access in Australia confirms an increase in the number of users, but those people asked still think it costs too much. According to the 2008 Worldwide Mobile Data Service Study, 61% of Australians have used information services in their phone over the last month, while 49% have visited a mobile internet site on their phone. However, pricing plans for mobile internet use are not conducive to large numbers of regular users. Australian users are still paying for their data on a per use basis, rather than having unlimited download plans such as is the norm in the USA. Of the respondants surveyed 61% said they would be willing to pay $10 AUD per month for their data.
